Youth Court Support for Criminal Advocates

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has issued guidance and support for those representing Youths in the Youth Court . The SRA says  :

You have a responsibility to deliver a high standard of service to all your clients including young people and children. If you are practising in the youth court, it is important that you regularly reflect on the quality of your practice and undertake regular learning and development so your skills and knowledge remain up to date. You can use our Competence Statement and these resources to help you do this.

The Guide available online sets out a competency framework and also provides a framework of how to meet expectations , what others should expect and how you can access resources to support your knowledge .

All Criminal Practitioners will be well advised to make themselves familiar with this material .
