Consultation on Personal Injury Claims and Small Claims Deadline 6th January 2017
Members will be aware of a crucial consultation currently under way over restrictions to Personal Injury Work and changes to the small claims court access the consultation here : https://consult.justice.gov.uk/digital-communications/reforming-soft-tissue-injury-claims/
This includes measures to limit pain suffering and loss of amenities claims or remove them . Increase the small claims limit to £5000 removing the ability to recover legal costs and ban pre-medical offers .
If the measures are implemented they will remove the ability of many people to be compensated for their injuries and in addition will have a decimating effect on those who undertake personal injury work .
There is an urgent need for all firms to respond to this consultation and Doncaster Law Society has prepared a proposed response for our members small-claims-track-response-to-consultation-proposals Please respond with any comments to Diane Parker D.Parker@athertongodfrey.co.uk
The deadline for responses is the 6th January 2017
