Regional and National

Hello and a happy new year. Welcome to the new digital newsletter for local law societies and special interest groups, we hope you will find it useful.

As I start on the second half of my presidency I am working hard with the relationship management and public affairs teams to continue to honour my commitment to support and strengthen the links between the Law Society and local law societies across the country.

As former president of Bolton Law Society I know that local law societies are an essential part of our membership and without them, the Law Society would not be able to do the valuable work that it does.

To support you, I will be launching a Local Law Society Handbook at the presidents’ and secretaries’ conference on 11 and 12 May. The aim of this resource is to share best practice and provide a useful reference tool on issues including governance structures, improving your brand, how to effectively communicate the work that you do, and how to lobby your MP and help with our important campaigning work on behalf of the profession

I look forward to working with you over the next few months on the handbook and when I am out and about across the regions.

Kind Regards,

Joe Egan
President of the Law Society
